Michelle Dean is a Licensed Professional Counselor who currently practices at Greer and Associates Family Services in Denton. Michelle graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology and from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Michelle specializes in working with children and adolescents alongside their parents. Michelle holds a strong systemic view when working with children/adolescents and specializes in behavioral plans, families of divorce, parent consultation, play/activity therapy, and victims of abuse. Michelle values parent’s involvement in the therapeutic process and is successful in creating a strong relationship with both the parents and child. Michelle also is experienced with adults who are specifically struggling with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, or have suffered from sexual, physical, emotional abuse, or any other traumatic experience. Michelle’s experience in private practice, a psychiatric hospital, and Children’s Advocacy Center has expanded her knowledge, broadened her clinical experience, and has allowed her to expand the clientele and presenting issues she is able to effectively work with. Michelle’s goal is to create an environment that is welcoming, values trust, and provides support and understanding. She primarily practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems Therapy, but is able to accommodate to specific needs to provide client’s with the tools necessary to complete their goals.
