Randi Skinner earned her BBA from the University of North Texas with a focus in Entrepreneurship. UNT is where she first developed her passion for the Denton community. Randi currently serves on the board of Giving Hope Inc., volunteers with Denton County Friends of the Family and is an active member of Denton Rotary. As Business Development with Blue Steele Solutions, Randi works to help local businesses create sustainable rock solid marketing strategies and solutions. Randi currently enjoys Denton square living with her husband Aaron.

Vanessa Ellison is a “Green Queen” and an agent of change! She is the Recycling Education Coordinator for the City of Denton. She is also a proud University of North Texas alumni with a B.A. from the Mayborn School of Journalism and a M.S. in International Sustainable Tourism. During her studies she attended CATIE University in Turrialba, Costa Rica. She also studied Urban Agriculture in Havana, Cuba and interned as a Manager of Japan Cat Network in Inawashiro, Fukushima Japan. Vanessa is a Waco, TX native but has adopted Denton as her home since 2007. In 2013 she married the love of her life, Landon Ellison and they enjoy traveling and exploring Denton.

Russell has been a Texan his entire life. He grew up with horses and cows, like all good Texans, in the central Texas hill country. He served 6 years in the United States Army Reserves and graduated from the University of North Texas. Russell currently has a Certified Public Accountant designation. He has an amazing wife of 11 years, a son who transforms into a super hero every afternoon, and a daughter who is part princess and part cowgirl. He reads everything business/leadership that he can, is active in his local congregation, a lover all smoked meats, and an almost always disappointed Cowboys fan. Russell began his career at the largest locally owned public accounting firm in DFW. He specializes in tax, accounting consulting, mergers and acquisitions and is focused on navigating clients through complex financial issues while working with owners, lenders, and practices with multiple partners.

Brandy Thomas

Brandy Thomas is the Co-Founder of Shepherd Dog — a small local shop that builds web and mobile applications for other small businesses. Starting Shepherd Dog has given her the opportunity to follow her passion for helping others and use her diverse skill set which ranges all the way from accounting to metalsmithing, and everything in between. Her favorite thing about having her own business is that she gets to volunteer and give back the Denton community on her schedule. When she’s not working or volunteering she can be found going for a run, taking her dog Dozer (who’s also the mascot for Shepherd Dog) on a walk, or working on her old built-in-1940-needs-lots-of-work house just off of the UNT campus.

Josh has been an Insurance Agent since 2010. He specializes in assisting contractors, auto services (car washes, quick lubes and auto repair), commercial buildings and commercial land. He is an active member in the Denton County community and is happy to help where ever he can.

Sarah Hoffman

Sarah Hoffman is an experienced probate and litigation attorney, who has been practicing law in Denton County since 2010.  Denton is Sarah’s hometown. She graduated from Ryan High, and obtained her undergraduate degree from UNT.  Since returning to Denton after law school at Texas Tech, Sarah has been passionate about helping the Denton community. She has volunteered and fundraised for several local non-profits, served on City of Denton citizen committees, and been member and volunteered with the Denton Chamber of Commerce. Sarah’s law practice focuses on wills & estate planning, probate & estate administration, civil litigation, and personal Injury law.

Charles Crouch is an Account Manager at The Crouch Group, a Denton-based, full service marketing firm. He works with clientele on all of their marketing needs: graphic arts, website design, promotional products, social media, and video production. He is also a certified personal trainer and teaches Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED classes. Charles has worked for Texas Woman’s University Fitness and Recreation as the Head Personal Trainer Student Supervisor, a Group Exercise instructor, and a founding member of the student-led Marketing committee. A life long Dentonite, Charles graduated from Denton High, and got a Bachelor’s of General Studies and a Master’s in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University. He is on the Board of Directors for Serve Denton and a member of the Denton Evening Rotary.

Tomás Sanchez grew up near Corpus Christi and earned his BA in Political Science at Texas State University.  As a heavily involved student, he decided to enter the field of student affairs, earning a Masters degree in Counseling.  Moving to the northeast, Tomás worked for several years in housing at the University of Vermont.  In his time there, he met his wife, Sarah, and earned his Doctorate of Education, focusing on the ethnoracial identity development of Tejano college students.  He was happy to accept a position as the Associate Director of Residence Life at the University of North Texas.  Tomás enjoys exploring the outdoors, working on art, and taking advantage of the local music scene.

Alex is a resident of Denton for 20 plus years. As a Baylor graduate, he focuses on serving the community and people that reside within. With a corporate Fortune 250, background, Alex brings knowledge and the experience to utilize current technology and market research to bring you the fastest and most reliable information. Alex currently serves on the Board of Directors for Serve Denton and The North Central Texas College Foundation.

Ryan Webster is an associate attorney with Alagood Cartwright Burke PC, a firm that is regularly recognized for demonstrating a high level of competency and the ethical practice of law. ACB’s attorneys handle a variety of civil lawsuits, real estate transactional matters, business transactional matters, and probate matters.  Ryan represents clients in various types of civil litigation matters, including business disputes, contract disputes, fiduciary litigation, probate litigation, and personal injury. He also handles business law matters for small businesses and probate administrations, both as a court appointed estate administrator and as an attorney for executors and administrators. When Ryan is not practicing law he enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. 

Tim Smith
Founding Member

Tim Smith is a Denton transplant, moving here in 8th grade when his Military family finally came to rest in his Father’s hometown. A Denton Ryan grad, Tim attended Austin College where he played football all 4 years. After graduation, he was working for the City of Denison before finding his entrepreneurial spirit and desire to serve his adopted hometown. In 2013, he opened his financial services practice with Modern Woodmen on the downtown historic Denton Square. Now as a Managing Partner, Tim recruits and mentors others to impact the lives of their clients and their community just like he has.
