Community Impact Director at United Way of Denton County
Kayla Stewart is a Community Impact Director with United Way of Denton County (UWDC). She coordinates United Way’s Pre-K Coalition and four School-Based Community Centers. She also manages updates for the annual Community Resources Directory, coordinates volunteers, directs the Denton County Works program and facilitates the Mentor Denton program. In 2013, she graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s degree in Social Work. She also spent four months working abroad with the island nation of Grenada on their human rights efforts, political election and grant writing efforts. She currently lives in Denton, Texas with her husband Brandon Stewart, who is pursuing a PhD in Political Science, and her dog Nola.
